Online Courses Taught by Experienced International School Leaders

The AAIE Institute courses provide invaluable real-life scenarios and specific strategies taught by experienced international school leaders. Each course focuses on a key component of international school leadership.

The eight courses in our program are seven weeks in duration, with the exception of the mentorship course required for participants who wish to obtain their master’s degree** or AAIE Fellowship. Successful participants of all eight courses will receive a certificate of completion and recognition as an AAIE Fellow from the Institute.

Vision and Mission to Guide International Schools

In this course, international school leaders will create processes to guide, assist, and lead a school’s board of trustees to create a meaningful school mission and vision to provide clarity and direction for school achievement and institutional soundness. You will examine the steps needed for successful implementation of mission and vision and regular review of these for continuing appropriateness will also be explored.

School leaders are introduced to various legal and cultural complexities specific to managing international schools and how this information can be used to address current and potential challenges. Practices for laying the groundwork for a positive relationship with diverse constituencies, and ensuring a safe school environment for student and staff will be addressed in this course.

As an international school leader, you must have the knowledge and skills needed to equip boards with effective governance practices, and also learn how to build collaborative, positive working relationships with board members. In this course, you will create an action plan comprising key elements of board management, including a partnership exemplified by communications with the Board, written reports, development plans, and professional dialogue.

Continuous Professional Growth for International School Leaders (Mentoring)
